Do Your Own Research.

there were several times when i was inside the congregation that i met up with a problem in my life and on mentioning it at a group i would be told to do my own research about it.. of course, they didn't mean for me to research worldly material for the answer but to use the wt indexes and look into the wt society magazines.. it was only when i started to do my own research outside of the wt that i began to see the limited scope of the society's magazines as all problems usually fell into the category of 1. read the bible, attend meetings, go out on the work, and pray; or 2. this isn't going to be fixed now but in the new world god will sort it out and the former things (what you are suffering from now) will not be called to mind.. i wonder how many people still in are struggling and are not being encouraged to research away from the organisation where they would receive practical and valuable advice?.

My perception is that it is now all strong-arming. Essentially the message is : "We have control of your family, you would never go to the whore of Babylon for anything.... deal with it."

I thought the dead know nothing at all?

1 Samuel 28 - Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah,....Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the Lord is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?

...the Lord hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David:

18 Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the Lord, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the Lord done this thing unto thee this day.

19 Moreover the Lord will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and tomorrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the Lord also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.

I thought the dead know nothing at all like JW's is true regarding the soul, body and spirit. Oooops.

Jesus resurrected himself from the dead.

John 2: 19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? 21 But he spake of the temple of his body.

So, did Jehovah raise Jesus from the dead, or was it the Holy Spirit, or was it Jesus? The answer is YES!

@LV101 - Yes it is a master Greek Text of the NT. It was the only one in use for centuries until the spiritists Wescott and Hort created another one based on Vaticanus and Sinaiticus.

One would need a Bible library and endless hrs.

Not really, just use a well respected translation. But if you want to drill down a litttle deeper use a TR based bible like one of these:

1. King James Version - KJV

2. King James Version ER (Easy Reader) - KJV - ER

3. New King James Version - NKJV

4. Modern English Version - MEV

5. Green's Literal Translation - GLT

6. Third Millennium Bible - TMB

7. New Cambridge Paragraph Bible - 2005 edition of the KJV (paragraph format with modernized spelling)

I do not understand the universal issue anymore

to explain the universal issue we are often referring to a teacher and his/her students.. let us imagine that a teacher (god) has an hour (everlasting) class to show his students (humans and angels) how to fix a broken clock (to reign).. one student (adam) says he is able to fix it better independently, without the teacher's help (universal issue).. the teacher let him demonstrate that in front of all the others, but instead of an hour lesson he gives him only 5 minutes (death after a limited period of time) and he blocks one of the student's hands behind his back (imperfection).. if i were one of the other students watching i could think: but those were not the initial conditions the student was in when he said he could, and what would have happened leaving him more time and both hands free?.

am i crazy?.

It is posessing a nature that repudiates dishonesty, hypocrisy, lust, greed, fear, unfaithfulness and embodies love for others, duty, responsibility and most of all supreme love for God as the Master of everything - without trying to manufacture it.

You can't put new wine into old wineskins. You must be born again.

Biden running in 2024 🤣

i've filed this under news and world events, although i could've posted it under entertainment, lol.

apparently, joe biden will be seeking re-election for another term in the white house.. this, despite a recent poll showing that 70% of people don't want him to run again.. biden just has to be the worst president i've seen.

his gaffes, over-relience on a prompter, and, more than any other president, his refusal to answer journalists' questions, all go to make him top of the list in terms of bad presidents.. it will certainly provide entertainment, if nothing else..

For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. Romans 4: 3-4

Offending God & racking up more sin debt by working for your salvation definitely does not fit WT theology.
